Do any of you have a pic showing the seal under the tonneu cover and the surface it seals against?
I know my car as an ‘86 is an odd one - but most of the parts from ‘87 usually fit.
However, I ordered an new tonneu cover panel seal and it appears to go underneath the actual lid ? On mine, nothing is on the lid, it is only a seal around the «rail» that the lid closes against as seen in the picture.
No pic, but there should be weather stripping on the underside. It uses double sided tape and when in the proper position seals against that rubber strip on the "rail".
Thanks man
Turns out this is an '86 thing .. found this thread from another member with similar issues https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/conv...ther-seal.html
So, I'll just have to track down a pinchweld trim to use on the rail where my current seal is - then mount the new seal underneath the tonneu cover as for the 87-92s
I bought some of that trim stuff (along w/ the weatherstripping) on ebay.If you have the trim plastic in the trunk there is a small piece on the circular cutout for the trunk hinge. Its the same piece as what goes on the rail.
