How hot is your Engine at Operating Temp?

Well here's the story guys,

I just finsihed an engine swap and was unable to hook up my tmp gauge to the new engine. I run my engine and it is damn hot when it reaches operating temperature. The intake manifold and radiator hoses burn my fingers if I hold it there fro a few secs. the vlave covers aren't much better. Even my fenders are hot!

Now I have 90* weather now but is it normal fro the engine bay to be so hot?

BTW I will get a gauge July 5th, but I woudl like to have my car fro the 4th without worrying of overheating.

Thanks,
-Max

Before the engine swap,I was running about 180* with the 305tbi. Now with the new motor,it runs anywhere from 210-230*.There is ALOT more heat coming from the engine bay now.

all stock 350 tpi dual fan setup, i run 220 all day, but when sitting in traffic for too long it will creep up to like 230 to 235 and then the fan comes on. any hotter the other fan will come on.

I used to run the same on my setup. I edited my PROM to turn the fan on at 204 degrees, and I rarely ever get above it now.

I wish I knew why GM had it set so high in the first place. My car ran like crap at that temperature.
