Bubbling into resv.

Hey I just bought a 1989 Iroc Convertable and am having problems........it did not overheat but when I turned it off there was a bubbling in the over flow tank. I squeezed the upper radiator there was nothing in it. The hose was hot but no fluid in it that I could tell. I just replaced the thermostat 195* and my fan is coming on. Any Ideas???

Thanks

Well I will have to check that out......I didn't notice it until I turned the car off. I just put a new thermo in. I did think it was strange the upper radiator hose was hot but empty.

Thanks

Yeah, get a new radiator cap. Also make sure you have enough coolant in it.

Everything you describe is normal, water expands thats why there is a catch tank. If your cap is old, yeah replace it but the upper radiator never is full full just returns hot water to the radiator.
