What temp??

I have a 305 TPI with a 180* T-stat. What temp should I be running at after the car is warm and steadies out? What temps do your guys cars run (same engine setup)? Thanks for the help

That stat won't help much at all if you haven't changed the fan temp switch. Stock the fans don't turn on till about 230* or so.

With a 160* stat, aluminum radiator I usually run about 170* down the highway, and 190* in traffic.

Thanx Mark. I consistently run about 220, is that bad? Too hot?

220 is perfectly fine for any engine. It will tend to run a little hot in city traffic, cooler when on the highway. I run a zz-4 block with otherwise all else stock. Everything in the cooling system is new GM original equipment. With a 195 stat and stock cooling fan setup as far as turn on temp etc. she runs on the first line bet 100 and 220. In traffic with the AC running it hovers just a hair below the 220 mark on the guage.

Hotter than I like for my motor, but for yours it's perfectly fine, that's the way they were designed to run for emissions purposes.
