Never reaches thermostat temp
Ever sense the weather has gotten colder i havnt been able to get my motor to a good operating temperature. It will usualy only reach about the 175 mark after some serious moshing. I have installed a edlebrock alum water pump, 180 stat, desert cooler alum. radiator and a custom air dam. Should i change the stat or simply jus put a peice of cardboard infront of the radiator for the winter? During warmer climate it runs great gets up to 180 and then cools back down.

If you can get your heat to come on, I'd say it's fine to allow it to run at 175, but I'm not a TPI guy. If you cant get it to reach your thermostat temp, then putting in a higher stat wont help. Maybe your cardboard trick is the answer.

Guages and thermostat's vary in exact temperature, as well as the location of the temp sensor and thermostat. 175 sounds normal with a 180 degree stat. Toss in a 195 stat and you will run warmer. I run around 175 in the winter and around 185 in the summer with a 180 stat.
