i currently have all the stock cooling parts that i used on my L98 engine. i plan to upgrade to something here shortly that will rase the power bar to twice as much.

how do you know when you need to go with better cooling products like race waterpumps and aluminum radiators by people like "becool"?

i would run with the new engine and see how the cooling works..

your putting in a new high performance water pump most likely anyway right? just put in a lower temp t-stat (maybe 180), and hook the fans up to switches to turn them on/off whenever the car is on..

yeah, i would probably stick with my 160 stat and add the pump like you said....i haven't had any real issues in the past.

just seemed like a question i would ask to see what everyone thought!

thanks for replying.

I wouldn't exactly consider them a must. I swapped in the motor in my sig and kept all the stock cooling parts including a 24 dollar remaned water pump and was having some overcooling issues with a 160 stat. I was running about 140 degrees on a cool night and 160 during the day. Then I went to a 180 and now I'm at about 160 at night and 180 tops during the day. Obviously my stock (92,000mi) radiator is in excellent shape so as long as yours is in decent shape, you shouldn't run into any problems.
