Flushing it out

I have the top of the motor apart (mainly to do the intake manifold gasket) and I am putting in a new water pump. When cleaning the old gasket material, I notice there is still some antifreeze/water pooled in the block. The radiator is out of the car, as well as the intake manifold and water pump and everything else above obviously so I don't need to flush the entire system. Is there a way to flush this out without putting the car back together and then disconnecting hoses to flush. Can I simply put the hose in one hole and have it flow out the other side. Thanks for the help.

When you put the manifold back on you could try putting the thermostat housin on and let your water hose run through it. That might flush all of it out. Do it without the thermostat in of course. once your done, just put the water pump and everything else back on. That's one idea.
