Help fan not working at all.

Yesterday while i was driving home i it was nice so i decided to open my car up a bit. when i got off the highway i noticed my temp almost all the way up. I let the car sit for 20 mins when i got home and started it up to see if the fan was working and it wasnt. Could it be that the thermostat is broke and thats why? Cold it be the motor went on the fan or a relay? It is an electrical fan so i check the conector on the bottom and it was pluged in. Im lost on this one. should i change the thermostat again. I did this last august of 02. Please help the car didnt start to smoke but did spit some coolant out of the over flow. but not enough to empty it and i added more to where it said full when hot. Please help.

it could be the stat, but since you recently changed it try some other stuff..

umm pull the connector to the fan motor and put 12 volts on it to see if the fan moves if it does.. then move up to the relay.

if relay isnt getting any power then it could be the fuse located in the driver side fuse block..

try taking off the rad cap starting the car and put a thermometer in the rad, if it reaches 234 degrees and nothing then theres a problem you could try putting 12 volts to the fan and see if it lights up and if it does check the coolant sensor and the relay

hey chuck whats up. The switch that grounds the relay probably went bad or the relay it self. What i would do is unplug the sensor on the passenger side head (which grounds the relay at a certain temp) and just run the wire inside the car and hook up a two prong switch to it. You brought it to carls though so i guess he'll fix it. By the way guys his car is the tbi set up fan not like on the tpi;s.

well the car is still in the shop. the choke on the carb melted and the carb was toast. along with the fan. bought a new carb so it wasnt flodding the ening with fuel and he tried fixin the fan and he found an electrical problem. so he is trying to fine the cause of that before he goes on with the tune up and the fan. i cant wait till next june.
