Sigh....overheating again
I dont know what it is...I just bought another 180* stat and the damn thing still overheats...The only time it will stay slightly cooler is when i have the heat on full blast and its on VENT...WTF is up with that, its like 60* here and keepin the heat on is just retarded, and gets really stuffy...Could the damn water pump be bad? because i know for a fact nothing else is...where can i get a cheap one?

well the engine is a stock 350, i just figured its the water pump because it really heats up at idle, and i checked for circulation of coolant with the radiator cap off and theres hardly none if any....I just figured i'd buy a cheap 20-30$ pump from autozone to hold me off till next pay...the stat, cap, fans, and head gaskets are all fine so this is my only other hope

I have baught thermostats brand new that never opened. I believe that they were those gold colored ones from AutoZone.

the temp gets as hot as 230+ when driving and will get into the red when idling....the stat is working(180*) when i squeeze the upper rad hose...u can "hardly" feel any surge of coolant...i bought a new water pump but havent put it in yet...would the pump do this?
Are you sure that the radiator is good becuse that was the problem i was having with my 87 GTA and all i did was replace it and now my car hasnt even t 220 degrees and hot Flordia weather. I hope it helps you out.

Hah, i think its fixed...The fuel mixture was lean, so that kinda contributed to it getting a little hotter than I had hoped...but I still picked up a nice rebuilt water pump just in case...im just gonna put it in this weekend...thanx for all your help though
