Engine shutting down at 220

When the temp get's to 220 if I am stop at the stop light my 92 Z-28 would die out and it would take along time for it to start back up. Could this be because of the temp or does it sound like something else?

need more info... does it stutter before dieing?? any back fires???
i doubt the temp of 220 causes the turn off but the temp rising can be related to many things... car stalling out isnt usually caused by temp though... more info more pin pointed answer..

Well at Idle it runs really rough and now I have to gas and break it so it doesn't die on me cause if it dies I have to wait along time before it can start again. On the freeway it has all the power in the world. When I got the Camaro I took it to the Race Track and it wait 14.2 and 13.8 in a 1/4mile. So Power wise it's all good but it's just at Idling and stop's that kills me. 92 Z-28 Camaro 5.7 TPI Auto 25th Anniversary Edition. Please tell what the heel is going on.
