AC is history and soon to be ripped off in favour of the delete pulley--why would my interior be warmer?
Water on ignition..hmmm that could be trouble.
I've read around the net that this is a good mod for keeping under hood temps down..maybe not such a good idea.
Anyone else?

I removed the hood seal before I purchased my cowl induction hood and never had a problem with anything. The distributor never got wet because the water would have to travel about 6-8 inches forward from the windshield edge and even when washing the car, you would have to spray directly into the back of the hood to get the distributor wet.
My interior never felt any hotter because of hot air from the engine entering the air vents.
If you want proof just remove the hood seal and wash your car. Open the hood while wet and watch where the water flows. You won't see any water near the distributor.
Also, the AC will work fine. I've driven my camaro without the hood seal in all kinds of rain and temperatures and never had any problems of any kind.

Mine's been out for a long time. Negatives are no different than running a cowl hood. Positives, well mine runs cooler around town without the seal. At idle I can feel lots of hot air blowing out from the rear of the hood.

Do you "smell" the engine?

I've gone through some big puddles, and when I stop the steam from off the engine will fog over the windshield at times.

Re: hood seal removal
water wont affect the ignition, at least not the large cap in coil type
water never gets in them, if they are in good shape anyways
the clips that hold the seal to the hood are a kind of pita, they pull out of the weatherstrip and stay in the hood holes, have to remove them all from the hood andput them back on the weatherstrip to reinstall
a coupe of them came off the weatherstripping on my T48 hood, i have to fix it some day
good luck

Re: hood seal removal
It's been about 4 months since I've been online here so I figured I'd do some surfing. Reference to the seal I removed mine over 2 years ago with NO problems at all. I'm glad I did it.

Re: hood seal removal
I think it looks good, i get good and bad opinions from people about it.
I will take a photo tonight and show you what it looks like.
One of the reasons i lifted it was coz i got a adapter plate under my Holley and it was making my aircleaner scrape the under side of my hood, Now it don't

Re: hood seal removal
I've got a RamAir 1 hood on my GTA with part of the rear cut out. As such - I've noticed some things that are happening due to the lack of the seal:
While sitting still, the air being pulled into the car (AC or Vent) heats up considerably.
Fogging on the outside of the windshield on wet days
Increased engine noise.
So ya - these things do happen. Will they bother you? Who knows.
