couple of ???s
ok guys,
its been said b4 but i havent seen an exact problem to what i have in my iroc...
first the stats...
i have an 87 tpi iroc..a/c removed...all emssions removed..aftermarket headers/k/n filters (not cone)
now...when i am driving at highway speeds...she is fine...its just in stop and go traffic (city) that i have to have the heater on full blast...
i have the fan (yes only one, not lucky enough to get the duel fan setup) on all the time which keeps it somewhat cool...
now is there anything that i can do to keep it cooler without using the heater?? cuz now...the heater doesnt work..(im assuming i blew the heater now, although the heater core is still ok)
2nd...did you find that when you put a cold air intake on your tpi did it make it cooler or not make much of a difference??
thanks guys

what thermostat are you running? might want to think about using a 180 stat to keep alittle cooler.
the 180 is working great for me, i was running 220 at idle sitting at a local car show for over 10 minutes in pretty humid and warm temps. i had my passengers fan on the whole time with my manual switch.

Depending on how long your fan motor has been hotwired to run all the time, it might have slowed down, and is not really pulling that much air through the rad anymore even though it's spinning, it might not be spinning fast enough to really do much. These do wear out. I replaced my motors bc I suspected this and the new ones blow a lot harder. I can feel the breeze under the car all the way by the rear of the doors. Big difference.
