Car stays kool with ac on only!!!
for some strange reason my car tends to climb in heat rather fast.when i turn on the ac the temperature stops rising and usually stays at the temp i turned the ac on or it goes down a bit.
took it to mechanic had radiator checked for leaks flushed and so on.Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated thanks alot guys.
p.s. its a 89 firebird 305:hail:

It's more than likely got something to do with you fan(s). when you turn the ac on the ECM cuts on the fan, or the AUX fan if you have TPI. When the AUX fan cuts on w/o the pri fan being on then the ECm goes into default and turns on the pri fan. So you are going from no fans to two fans and that is why it's cooling off. You need to look at the circuit that energizes your fans.
