hey guys, where is the best place to get a new thermostat? i would like something around 200 deg.

they will have different degree settings? i just thought they carried stock temps.

not all of them. If you look at ******* articles, GM has a 170* tstat and lists the part number... i just got mine today (THANKS WILLIE, YOU DA MAN!) and i hope to put it in maybe in a few mins... but sleep is sounding mighty fine right bout now. 200* tstat? why higher then stock? stock is 195*, that can be found at any parts store. Pepboys i belive has a range of them, but im not sure. When i worked for strauss, we had 195 or 180*, and that was for just a specific kinda car.

in an added note, anyone know what size and how many holes to drill around the stat?...thank you.

I would drill two holes. Each @ 1/8 inch. I tried 3 holes and on cold nights the engine would not warm up. Even with 2 holes, on a long downgrade, the engine will overcool.

At least that's what mine does.

i was gunna go with 3 holes, but i hear different stories... i only drive my car in the summer so cold nights arent really a problem.. i might drill 3 holes since i hear from 4 to 2 holes... ill pick the middle. hehehe thanks! now... i just need a gasket and i can put it in... dam GM didnt give me a new one with the stat...
