Electric water pump?!?!

Quick question(s)......

Im wondering if there are any people using an electric water pump with their daily driver? Are there any draw backs to using an electirc pump on car that sees use daily? do the electric pumps last as long as the mechanical?

Like anything, they will wear out. And with a mechanical pump, at least you get a leak,(some warning) with an electric, when it's done, it's done and you're hosed. The advertised life of a good one was 2500 hours.
