Yellow chalky buildup....

There was a yellow chalky buildup inside my radiator hoses and crap when i pulled my 305....the radiator was leaking high on the suction side....the engine never overheated....my temps were good....whats up with that

sounds like lime. What did the inside of the radiator look like?
