Probably similiar to a product called water wetter. Don't be fooled by ad hype. Motorcycle tracks require liquid cooled sportbikes to run water only as well and without coolant even though water is the primary cooling agent, coolant acts as a wetting agent preventing the water molecules from bouncing back off hot surfaces for lack of a better explanation or simplicity. If you were running pure water even a minute amount of any coolant would increase thermal transfer of heat from the water in the system. You can lower the temp of the engine by simply adding less coolant to the mix, in many cases not so much as the average temp but the rate at which the engine drops when the fans run, or airflow is increased across the rad. You could run a 30% coolant, 70% water mix and probably do the same thing. Remember, any coolant does little for the boiling point of the water component-it's the system pressure that raises the boiling point of the water. Coolant at best only lifts boiling by 10-15 degrees tops.

Try out RMI 25. Much more effective than Redline's Water Wetter. It's really good stuff. All the Turbo Buick guys I know swear by it and turned me onto it.

Water Wetter does absolutely nothing. Put it in 2 vehicles, and it didn't change a thing.

I race motocross and we put water wetter in our dirtbike radiators. It actually does help, believe it or not.

Haven't bought any, yet. Probably won't After spending $400+ on a rad, I don't need it! But I thought maybe someone may give it a try.

I used the Red Line Water Wetter in my car and it made a huge difference, almost 20 deg cooler for the normal operating temp.

I was told that if you have old coolant or to strong of a mix that it wont work as well.

Funny how that demonstration shows just the opposite of what they claim. An actual heat sink will allow the transfer of heat (the torch) into another material (her hand) more easily. That liquid acts as an insulator keeping the heat from being absorbed into the coolant.
