Fan switch part numbers/applications?

I'm looking into swapping back to factory electric fan on my '84 T/A from the current clutch fan setup, and was doing some checking up on the controlling system for the fan...

In the manual it mentions that the temperature switch will kick on the fan when the engine reaches around 235 degrees, and off again when it goes below (I think it was) 214 degrees. However I'd like to swap out the switch so the temperature cycles lower than that (for example use a switch that will cycle on at 215 degrees and off at 190 or something like that). Does anyone have any part numbers and/or applications that would use a switch with this range that I can swap to? This is going in a stock 305 with a 170 degree thermostat- the current setup keeps the engine around 170-180.....

Thanks!

Dave, you have a couple of choices. Jet makes a fan switch that is around the area you want but it's pricey($50). Go to a NAPA store, have them look in thier book. They give thread sizes and on off temps. I can't remember the exact turn on-off temp but they do have one lower than stock and it's only $19 retail.

Well after searching the board I did find mention that a switch from a Buick Grand National would fit and it kicks on 10 degrees cooler. But I found out that it's also $45 :P

I'll check out NAPA though - I also need to get a new connector from them too for the switch. I just disconnected the original switch earlier today and when I did so it almost literally disintegrated in my hand.....

go to a normal auto parts store and ask for one for a 87 buick t-type, vin 7, it turns on at 215-220, off around 195-200, i am running one now, it cost $7 from murrays auto parts

or get this for a lower on/off temp
