car overheating
car overheating
ok here is my story I hope someone can help me.
first off my radiator took a dump. I replaced it, no problem. or so I thought. now the car runs fine, when the car is running on the hwy or even at sustained 25mph the temp stays down low. but when I get into stop and go traffic or the car sits for more than say 3 mins (after it's warmed up) the temp starts to rise really bad. it's gets to just below the red on the guage. If I run it on the hwy after that the temp goes back down after a few miles.
what gives? someone told me it might be the thermostat. I haven't gotten around to changing it, but I hope that is it.
any one else have any ideas?
thanks

I suggest the toggle switch fan method. It takes some getting used to, but for me I feel better knowing that I don't have to worry if my fan is on or not because I turn it on before I start the car..
