Front Air dam

Does the front air dam make that much of a difference? I had my car painted years ago and they took that off and never put it back on and I didn't notice it for a long time. Well the car hasn't overheated or anything but it has been so long I can't really tell if it is needed for anything. Anyone else ever experimented with this?

The airdam provides about 65% (chevy number) of the air flow for the radiator, however it also causes some drag at speed so if you have no overheating problems then I would leave it off.

which is the only thing coolign your engine at those high speeds..

people most often experience problems with overheating with no air dam when they are at highway speeds.

I may not of been too clear on this. I am talking about the crescent shaped piece of plastic that connects to the front spoiler. Not the straight flat piece of plastic that points straight down at the ground and is about 4 foot wide. Know what I mean?
