Hayden Fan Switches

Has anyone had experience with these (the kind you push into your radiator)? One member said it messed up his radiator. Could this happen?

Oh, and where can I buy these things? Summit and Jegs don't carry them.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I rana zip tie through the fins and secured it to the radiator.

I think the problem happends when people dont read the directions and push the temp probe In the rad fins!

LOL, what if your driving around and you don't notice your car overheating and your gauge is telling you its only 160 degrees? you have the possibility of causing some damage to your motor.... I trashed my hayden and got one that will go into my cyl. head

And what is green chickens from mars come down and take over the planet? OMG what will i do. Sh*t happens. And if my car does overheat my gauge will tell me it is. And if your paranoid like Danny boy here you can always get a backup system using the cyl head. Have that system set up to turn on at a higher temp so that if the hayden ever fails you got a back up. This wasnt a WHAT IF thread, he asked if anyone had a hayden, and made a comment about some noodle on here messin up his rad. Ps im not an ase or anything BUT if a thermo gets stuck closed then it cuts ALL coolant off from going from the engine back to the rad for cooling right? Ok then what good if your cyl head crap gonna do then?

Well I don't know how the other guys have their system set up, but my Hayden switch only turns on the fans. I have an Autometer coolent temp guage in the left cylinder head to tell me what the coolant temp is. That way I know if I'm overheating.

I guess that guy zip tied his temp prob for his gauge to the upper rad hose also? I couldnt make sence of it either.
