i need reassurance

I checked my coolant about a week ago and it was at an acceptable level. I checked it again today and the overflow botle was empty and my radiator level was about an inch and a half fron the top. I noticed no puddles on the ground, so i just assumed i blew a head gasket. I also tend to think for the worst. Can anyone come up with any other ideas to make me feel better? I was wondering also. I checked my coolant a couple weeks ago with a hydrometer and it was protecting at about -10* F, which is a little low and i do need a flush. Does coolant break down? Could this explain the loss? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot. Rock on

not sure if it breaks down or not. being running the same coolant and water mix (50/50) for 2 years almost, being running fine.

umm if no coolant in the oil. then look for the easy checks, water pump weep hole leaking from the bottom of it, bad hose slowly leaks burning off the exhaust before it hits the ground.

check the system when full cold and then look at most of the important parts, then try to look at everything after a normal drive like after u go to the store or something.
