couple of questions

Ok, my fan just died on me and now my car starts to overheat whenever i'm in traffic, or stopped. Before it broke, the fan always came on as soon as the key was turned, so i'm assuming the motor burned out. Now my questions are, why would the fan always come on? My A/C doesn't work, would that cause it? Also, I was thinking of putting a manual switch in, and i was just wondering whay exactly is the benefits of this? I know it'll let you warm the car up faster, but what about while driving. Is there some sort of benefit to having the fan off when you're driving, say on the freeway? Thanks

Eric

yeah u want it to turn on and off to save life of the motor, i would look into finding the problem.

so u have one fan or two? if so what one is on all the time?

usually when u turn the car the relay gets power and then is being grounded meaning it will turn the fan on.

things to look at:

fan switch connection, between the 6 and 8 cylinders; its a one wire connection and could be burnt up or stuck on.

ok then, well definitely seems to be grounding the relay somehow.
