Electric water pump installation....

this is my first ever post on the cooling board i think.....

well guys seeing as im going to the dyno wed, it was impossible for me to just leave well enough alone, i had to mess with something.....so i installed my electric water pump thats been around for 3 years.

the problem is it wouldnt clear my timing cover, and if i installed it, there was no way to run my alternator belt (at least with my back asswards alternator setup)

so i fabricated 4 water pump flanges out of 3/16 steel, which was harder than i thought it would be to get just right....made tubing sections and created 2 2" water pump extensions that make enough room to put your fist between the water pump and the block.....

then there was the belt problem, so i fabricated an idler pulley setup to run the belt up to the alternator.......everything is in the car and not leaking (that took about 5 tries) so tomorrow im gonna get the right size belt and get the damn thing tested and hope it all works right.

i got the pump wired and working today, it works great and its whisper quiet....pumps 19 gallons a minute which should be plenty.....and it takes some high rpm drag off the motor

Heres a what the pump looks like installed...

Here is the extensions that i made for the pump

and the pump with the extensions....

Heres some pics of the whole setup installed on the car with the idler pulley assembly and what not....

it tested good, no leaks, never got about 120 degrees (its like 10 outside) and the belt tracks good on the pulley, revved it to about 6000 with no problems so it looks like its a go for the dyno on wed.
