extra hole on edelbrock water pump?

just bought edelbrock victor series water pump for '89 irocz 5 liter tpi. when i got the old stock one off and about to put the edelbrock, i noticed that there is an extra hole about 3/4 inch diameter. what is that hole for? the old one didn't have it. can i just plug it with a bolt? will wait for any reply before putting it on. thank you for info.

if it's on the top part of the water pump, it's for carb'd cars as a return for the heater hose, just cap it off and go about your business.
