Flushing and hose replacement
If you are going to replace the hoses would you flush the system first or afterwards?
Also what are the hoses that need to be replaced? Is there a kit that has them all? Should I consider silicone or stainless steel hoses?
Thanks,
Jason

humm...
you talking about antifreeze?well if i were you id flush it first then put on the new hoses cause you dont want any old contamination on your knew hoses. who knows maybe when your draing the sytem some sediment will be left behind on the hose, id rather just put fresh hoses in with fresh fluid. and if you dont have any overheating problems, heck just stick with regular rubber its alot cheaper and still doesnt look that bad...just my thoughts..

humm??
has it been sitting for a while..mine did for 3 years and my radiator had all corrosion that i could not flush out, i changed rad and flushed before but i never changed heater cor...its not leaking...when i put my heat on it works, and it just really doesnt matter to me much...and its not something thats usually changed unless its leaking...at least thats my experience. just when flushing turn your heat on and let the flush run through it for a few minutes.

I don't know how much it sat before I bought it. I has sat for the winter with me. I think I read somewhere on here that it would act up after new hoses and stuff because of the extra flow that it would experience. I am not looking forward to taking the dash apart (even though I think my tach and speedo could use repair), but I would do it if it would save me a full fill-up later while replacing it.

well..
hey if ya got the money and time it never hurts me i left mine, antifreeze does flow through it untill the heat is put on anyway i believe the heater bypass valve controls that and new hoses shouldnt create more or better coolant flow , its not like theres any blockage with your old hose, so it wouldnt affect your core that way although if u add a new water pump and lower stat then maybe there is grounds for that argument otherwise a hose is a hose . And ive driven my car which the heater core probably looks like some pimply fifth graders nose inside has ran fine with my 350 with mixed driving conditions. but if your restoring or really looking to do all of the stuff at once whatever helps you sleep at night is what i say..
