air flow of stock dual electric fan setup???
i got a 92 camaro z28 that was a 350 tpi and was wondering how much air the fans actually flow as compared to some of the aftermarket fans.... reason for asking is i have a carbed 406 and it tends to get a lil hot in the summer even when they are constantly running... i have a 2 yr old brass 3core radiator with a 160 stat.... please help me out if u can ...

I have the flex-a-lite dual fans on my car and they have worked great.
From what Ive seen in the car mags a big aluminum radiator with your choice of high cfm fan is the way to go.Ive got a three row copper radiator also. The alum rad is not cheap.

I dont agree. I think the stock dual fans are good enough. Both my supercharged and N/A L98 cars have the stock dual fans and it works great. I've got the blown one setup so that it never goes over 200 even in hour long stop and go traffic in the sunlight at noon. This is with a hot underhood blower! Since you said your fans are always on then its not a fan switch or electrical issue. Have you verified that the thermostat is opening? (check for pressure in upper rad hose when its hot). Also, is this happening at a stop, when you are driving, or all the time?

How many times do I have to tell you: you are too worried about the fan's cfm. You underestimate the value of a radiators surface area.

if you are that curious about the fans cfm rating you can call up chevrolets customer service.
tell them your restoring the car and if you ask they will send you 2 booklets one with every little detail about all stock options and i mean everything you could think of. the booklet other with parts stores specializing in chevy's cross country.
i have an 83 and the packets were free for me but the guy mentioned it costs for some newer cars
