Fans no worky - seems complicated
Ok,
Yes its a common problem and yes I tried the search function but I didn't find any relevant info.
Car: 88 GTA stock cooling setup.
Fans didn't work anymore from one day to the other. Won't run with AC on, won't run with ALDL on.
All fuses are fine.
Checked the relays for the fans. Result:
Hot-wired both relays on pin A and E, fans won't come on (used the diagrams I found here). Relays had 12V to ground, tho. On one relay, the pins D and F had current as well. Interchanged the relays.. Still no fans.
I wouldn't be happy about cutting any cables for testing.. And seeing it was crap what I did.
On the diagram below, seen from the electrical aspect, the fuses are set wrong. But is this the explanation for why I still have 12V at the fusible link with the fuse pulled?
Or are the relays simply shot? Howsoever this could happen in the blink of an eye.
Thanks for any input.

im just plain sick of my stock fans, anyone have any suggestions on a radiator-fan combo? i want the fans to run indepenant of the original wireing, and without a switch. i also want a good aluminum radiator. not affraid to spend. i want a system that can cool at least a 500hp motor.

Cooling fan does not work
My cooling fan does not come on unless I have the A/C on. It has been doing this on my 1990 Formula since I bought it 1.5 years ago. My dad and I replaced the relay and checked the fuses, but still no fan. Does any one have any suggestions on what to test/try next? It would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the single or dual fan set-up on your car. Also, have you checked the coolant fan switch in the engine above the starter to the left of the knock sensor?
