I have no difference at all. I live out in the desert and still havent noticed a difference. But I did notice a wee lil tiny difference in the AC operation. I am really picky on my cars so I notice the lil things but Deleting the valve was a good thing in my opinion.

If you remove the heater valve that will allow hot coolent from the intake manifold derectly back into the water pump and into the engine bypassing the rad. In the summer this could raise coolent temps. I added a heater valve!!

How can it possibly go direct? The valve redirects the water back thru the block rather than have it go thru the heater core. When you delete the valve the water flows thru both depending on how you do it.
The whole purpose of the diverter valve is to keep hot water from entering your heater core when you have your temp inside set to cold (flap closed to the heater core/ open to A/C and vent). ?????

On my 84 Camaro the inlet coolent that feeds the heater core comes from the eng. hot water return just before the stat on the int. manifold and has no heater control valve. The return water from the heater core returns to the top of the water pump bypassing the rad. All this hot water (you don't use your heater in the summer) goes from the water pump back into the eng. So, I installed a Monte Carlo heater control valve to stop the hot water from returning to the eng.

on my TPI car I have a heater hose going from the throttle body to the core.then from the core to a fitting on my stock rad just below the cap. with this set up obviously there is coolant passing thru the core all the time
