Without the airdam to break up the airflow, it creates a suction in the engine compartment, thereby removing any additional airflow due to the low design of the 3rdgens.

I just ordered mine, and it should do the magic. My car will heat up when I am driving in speed. However, a new "heavy duty" water pump really droped my temp down quite a bit. So, you might want to look into that as well.
Good luck.
Good luck.
