it broke off! , help please

i will try to get pics later but for now all i have is this diagram...well i was replacing number 1 , was fairly easy to get to after taking a few things out , once i got to it i used a vise grip to turn it loose , as i was turning loose i didnt notice that the freaking nipple broke off! , i was happy it turned easily but not happy that it broke off and left threads in there, how can i go about taking the rest of the nipple's threads that are stuck in there.!? ...

I assume there is a hole in the nipple and you don't need to reuse the part that's stuck inside.
Grind/file two ridges in the inside of the nipple, just big enough to fit a screwdriver in there. And twist it out. You might want to tap slightly to break the threads loose first. No BFH!

Hope this helps.

yeh i was thinking about that today and im going to see if i try to get it loose from the inside... i was trying to loosen it from turning the outside today, but i think i will have a better chance if i were to try to turn it from inside, lets hope i can get the thing out tomorrw , hopefully the lube i sprayed on will work its magic over night

If using the intended tool (wrench) didn't remove it, then a screwdriver isn't going to either. Its going to be a pipe thread. Probably 1/2 or 3/4 NPT, you'll have to figure that out on your own. You need to get the correct size tap, matching drill bit, and a new nipple from your local autoparts store or Jegs/Summit. Drill and retap the hole. Insert new nipple with some thread sealer, and you're done.

get an easy out, they are made to remove these broken things.

drilling and tapping is a last resort type of thing. easy out with heat would even be before tapping

I agree , use a easy out, I used to work for a local parts store. back in 96 and a lot a the local garages were breaking the water outlet niple off of the chevy 4.3L engines, I was told they were made out of a cheap metal and broke often. the easy out's were the only thing the garages here used to get the broken part out. . i think you can pic up a set of easy out's from any part store for under $20.
