Running hot on hiway resolved (strange)

Ok.....I had posted on here a while back about running 220-230 on the highway even with my airdam intact.

Stock rad and fans, aftmkt fan sensor, hi-flo water pump, 195 stat.

Noticed it was doing some funny things like steady climb to 240 and then dropping back down to 220. I thought it was a faulty stat.

So this weekend I put a 180* stat in. I still cant believe it. I've been on a few 2-4 hr road trips this summer with the car running 220-230 the whole way. Had to drive 3 hrs last night and the guage read 1 needle-width past the hash mark between 100 and 220.

Anyone know what temp that hash mark corresponds to?

Anyway....it was a beautiful thing.

Hash stands for 180-185, from what ive read in recent post.
