same boat, well same car anyways & same prob. if you saw my "possesed fan"?
I put the 180* stat in and new switch. Before that the fan would work in reverse order: on when cold, off when hot. Now I have diddly squat. Even the a/c dosen't trip it on. At last I checked 12v was getting past the relay and the fan runs hardwired to the battery.
Anybody ever take the 12v supply from the relay and bypass the relay for a key operated on/off. This isn't intended to be a permanent fix, but I need to do something until a stroke of genieus hits.

yatzee!
O.k. found the prob as to why the fan wasn't kicking at all.
I got slapped in the face with the old parody of the K.I.S.S. rule (keep it simple stupid). I checked out the fuse when I put the new stat and switch in, however, when my temporary wire repair from where I spliced into the fan power supply let go, it must have hit ground and blew the fuse apart, duh
Man is my wife having fun with that one
So far so good as far as the fan goes but of course now I have to throw some head gaskets at it.
