There are no freeze plugs in the heads. Nor do you have to remove them in order to yank the heads. Leave the plugs in. There are other means of draining the coolant, if that is what your goal is. There should be a bolt/plug in either side of the block that drains the coolant.

so remove the drain plus on the block not the freeze plugs. but since you're hitting them and denting them already might as well remove them. they're soft metal and come out typically easily.

i had a leak in my freeze plug ...it took me a whole week to get one out...cause i didint have any tools ....the way i took it out was to make a hole ...i used a screwdriver and plenty of banging...but a drill would save alot of time...then get a pry bar a skinny one....i bought one at O REILLYS it came with two ......but once i made the hole big enough to fit the pry bar i pulled and pulled hard as hell till it popped out ....these freeze plugs were rusted pretty good.....i had to remove da starter and the y-pipe ...accidently dropped a socket in da y-pipe so now my muffler rattles like a rattle snake
