Ok i've rebuilt my entire car, swapped out the tpi for a carb, swapped out the 305 for more cubes made the car insane and i can't remeber where my heater hoses go.. I went through all the carb pix and everybody seems to route there heater hoses to the water pump and to the intake, but what is the outlet on the radiator, passenger side twards the top, the small one is for the over flow but the bigger one underneath it?? Can i route one heater core line to this? and the other to the water pump? what is it i can't remember???

that would be the heater return.

I just bypassed the heater core on my '92 last night. the "top" fitting on the passenger side of the radiator should be 3/4" and that's where the heater return hose attaches. The other end of the return hose attaches to a pipe (autozone's website actually refers to it thusly) that runs along the wheel well to the firewall and connects to the heater core there. On my car, there's a tee in the pipe that recieves a hose that runs to a valve that directs the coolant supply from the intake manifold to the heater core or bypasses it and goes to the radiator.

Im in the same boat. I changed from tpi to carb, but havnt hooked up the heater hose. I think that usually you would hook one up to the intake and the other to the water pump. Might be able to hook up to the radiator and one to the water pump.

I dont have clearance to hook it up to the intake. the fuel line gets in the way. Maybe someones got some ideas.

 

for a non-bypassed setup:

one goes from the heater core to either the waterpump or to the radiator..

the other goes from the intake (any one of 4 locations on the intake) to the heater core.




the bypassed setup(stock on later model 3rdgens):

one line goes from the intake to the heater bypass valve
one goes from the bypass valve to the heater.
one goes from the bypass valve to the center of the tube on the passenger frame rail

a short line goes from the passenger frame rail tube to the radiator
a short line goes from the passenger frame rail tube to the heater core return.

there is more then one place to connect it on the intake. there are 4 water channels in most intakes... one at each corner.. any of them work... most of the time, i use the REAR passenger side one, to keep the hose short and neat.

 

I dont think my intake has 1 place and its in the front by the thermostat housing. Its a Team-G intake # 7525 singleplane.

I might be able to drill and tap the intake.

i wouldnt try drilling and tapping unless you plan to TIG a bung in there first... just use a nipple on the front, and run a longer hose to the heater core.

I did try a nipple in the front, but the fuel line is right in the way.

what team g model is that. mine is a team g and i have two on the water crossover. i have the t-stat housing in the middle and 1 heater connection on either side of the housing. mine also has the "airgap" under the water crossover and plenum.

 

Any standard dual inlet fuel line will hit. Unless I run some kind of funky setup, it will hit.


And its model #7525 Team-G street ram intake. It only has provisions for one heater hose and one temp sending unit. It also has povisions for the choke and egr. Check out the pic.

 

i saw the picture but i figured the coolant crossover would be the same with the team g models.

 

Naw, for some reason that model dosent. I might have to change intakes, but for now im not even running a heater box.
