A/C update...

Well..I found out my biggest problem was a set of cheap azz manifold gauges.I went a got a decent set and tried again.Hooked everything up an started up the vaccum pump.I managed to get down to about 29.5 Hg and then cut the pump off.I wanted to see if the vacuum would hold,so I cleaned up what mess I had which took around 5 minutes. After checking the gauges, the low side was rock steady at where I left it.I did'nt have time to evacuate the system...ran outta daylight. My vacuum pump got kinda hot anyways.Anyone one know if synthetic oil used in compressors will work in this pump. Its a Robinair electric pump.

use vacuum pump oil (not ac oil). It's better for your vac pump, and you will pull a better vacuum with it. you can get it at napa
