Coolant line screwed up

Hi im new to the board ive got a 87 firebird 5.0 with the carb, and its an auto, my problem is that the coolant line comming out of the back of the intake that goes into the heater core has busted off when i bypassed the heater core, and the acual nipple that the line hooked on to is broken right to the base of the intake. i was thinkin to tap the hole and get a bolt and use teflon tape and some rtv or silicon to try and seal it up...

welcome to the boards... if you want to bypass it, fine a plug and thread it into the back of the block, and find a plug for the hose coming out of the radiator...or the water pump. which ever you have
