Everything is fine until you get into traffic and then it feels like the A/C isn't cold at all. It will freeze you out of there going down the road! Anyone have this problem? What should I check? I idled it up some and that helped a little, but it is still hot sitting in traffic.

You say that if you idle it up, it gets colder. That is a sign of a weak compressor. It should cool enough while idling. If the air gets warm, I say compressor.
But of course, check that your fans are running, as MrDude pointed out. But you would already know that they are not running, you would overheat fast.

So my compresser is going out? I have to fix something on this car every week, I guess that will be next. It's like the compressor isn't spinning fast enough at idle. It reminds me of how our blinkers slow down while sitting at a redlight. Thanks for the info!

Freon is good and I just have the single fan with an l.e.d. that let's me know it's on. They only other thing I can think of is maybe the fan isn't up to par. Is it possible that the fan isn't doing as good a job as it should? The engine doesn't overheat.

A funny thing is that my car acts the same way, although I did ac delete.
Which leads me to a question.
Do you have enough freon in there??
Also, do check your compressor and check for leaks or cloggedge.
Does your guage climb up when ure sitting, does it climb past 220???

Freon is good and I checked for debris around condensor. It had not been used for a few years when I got it. I put a new belt on and charged it up with freon and it worked, just not that well at stops. It seems to be getting better or maybe it's just my imagination. Could I have overcharged it? Would that cause this kind of problem?

it can be overcharged. That stuff is expensive, but when they go bad you should change out the orifice tube sometimes they get blocked as the compressor gets older with tiny metal shavings. I had leaves and stuff around my condenser i cleaned those up and it helped. But i converted to R134A since it's alot cheaper and almost as good as freon. I replaced the accumulator at the same time as everything else.
