installing fan need help wiring

ok i bought the 90s electric ford taurus 2speed fan, and i want to wire it into my car, and lose the little existing fan. i bought an adj. fan switch that i can set the temp to turn on and off. now i have a wiring diagram i found but im confused on where to wire it to. either the 2 wires coming off the stock fan( power and ground?) or some others? heres the diagram please help

this will allow me to switch on high fan manually and low with be controlled by the thermostat. now the 40amp squiggle on the left....is that a inline fuse?? and i need someone to explain the whole dotted line box marked fan control. thanx alot! oh and is this gonna work?

THat will do exactly what you want from what you said. Auto turns the low motor on/off automatically while high bypasses the whole auto controller.

Squiggly lines are inline fuses. Your stock fan has 2 wires, positive and ground. That fan in the diagram has high (positive), low (positive), and a shared ground. The fan control box is just a relay that is triggered by a Temp Sensor. Must be a whole external unit for a Ford Taurus, its built into the ECMs in our third gens AFAIK.

so could i take the positive off the fan and wire this up accordingly? my car is goin carb and the ecm is gonna go probably. also i have the thermo switch control.

so under fan control(that part looks confusing...) what is the 30amp relay doin? its like making a door in the low speed wire. what does this mean. im really sorry but i dont know what all these symbols are.
