Help.. Whats This Part Called?

alright.. my car overheated today so it was replenished with anti-freeze etc and it tried to overheat again in about 5 minutes. I found the broken piece but i dunno what the parts called. It has an "F" shape to it. The water comes into it from the engine and spits off to goto either the heater core, or back to radiator. The male piece attached to the hose that comes from the engine cracked off so the anti-freeze was just shooting out all over the place.

if anyone knows please let me know a.s.a.p. so i can fix it. thanks

iT'S A PLASTIC PIECE, called "heater control valve". It controls the water flow to the heater core. When you turn on the AC, it cuts off the flow into the heater core, for maximun cooling into the passenger compartment.

Those plastic heater control valves weaken and break when they get old. They should be replaced before that happens.
