Breathment poseted a sticky on this forum and one of th categories of it is cooling system mods and inside that their is talk of putting 4 small holes in the thermostat to prevent hot pockets. I was wondering if anyone does this and is it worth it?

I've seen anywhere from 1 to 4 holes, usually 1/8" in diameter done. I personally drill one hole.
I drill the hole on the flat disk area, about 1/2 way between the sealing ring and the inner valve portion.

I don't understand why. When I bought my car the thermostat had 1 hole drilled in in. I threw it away
and put a new one in. And why do people put lower temp thermostats in anyway??
