Fan Switch wont come loose

I tried changing my Fan switch for my 91 L03 and I cant get the switch to come out of the block. I even brought it down to Pep boys and they tried for ~1 hr with no luck and they were worried about stripping the threads in the block. Tried PB Blaster also. So, in the end I am thinking about just putting in a 180 stat and using the AC to control the fan, or else using the Hayden switch and a 170 stat. Any advice or opinions about this?

Fan switch is in the passenger side cylinder head, not the block.

I ended up not being able to get my fan switch out because it is stuck in the head. Instead of wiring up a new fan switch I got a thermostat housing from pepboys for $11 that is actually listed as the stock one for TBI cars. It is exactly like stock but has two holes in it. One i put a bolt in, the other for the fan switch. So, anyone that wants to relocate their fan switch to the thermostat housing can use this, you just gotta rout the wire up top. Now its much easier to change if I need to later.
