Questions on fans and possible problems

ok i just replaced the motor on my primary fan as i died on me and the car was overheating. now, it seems that the car reaches higher temps faster than before. i noticed that the fans are rotating opposite of each other. the primary rotating clockwise and the secondary running counter clockwise. I also just added new coolant, a new temostat, hose, and rad cap. I dont know what else would cause it to heat up so fast and run really hot with the fans running. i am thinking it may be the water pump. any suggestions???

Stock fans should rotate the same direction.

Look to make sure they are both pulling air through the radiator.

Most fans will reverse direction simply by reversing polarity.(switching the wires) (+ to -) or ( - to + ).

Did you make any changes to the fan wiring when you installed the new motor?Otherwise the parts store you bought the new motor from may have given you the wrong motor(or could have been the wrong motor in the right box - it happens more often than you would think).

Also did you purge the system of air after installing the new thermostat and hoses?Air pockets in the cooling system will cause problems. And the new thermostat could be stuck or bad.

Did you change any of the wiring, I dont think you can plug them in backwards, if you hardwired them you may have crossed the wires.
