weeping water pump fitting

The top of my water pump has the fitting to go to the heater core. It's a cast iron pump i'm guessing, and a brass fitting. I put it in with permatex thread sealer, with teflon, say, 2 months ago. Just recently I noticed it weeping from the threads of the fitting.
I removed the hose, removed the fitting, cleaned the threads, and put a bunch of sealant on it, and put it back on. It's still weeping from the sealant covered threads, very slowly.

Is there a torque spec for this fitting? I can't really get a torque wrench on it, but i'm hoping for a ball park?

Should I try a hardening sealant, like red RTV?

Is this a common problem, a sign of a different issue or....?

There is no need
to gook-up your threads.
Teflon tape will provide a leak-proof
seal while keeping the threads in new condition,
make it faster to R&R that connection,
and you will not have to over-tighten connections.
