You mean it's overheating? If so, it could be a lot of things. Give us some more details on the engine and the symptoms...

What does the temperature rise to?

Have you put in new coolant and flushed the radiator lately? Are the fans working? If all that is working fine, then you may have to look into a new radiator to cool that 350. But try the basics first.

Is it getting to around the middle of the thermostat? That's what it usually gets to before the fans kick on. A new thermostat (maybe 180*) and/or a fan switch can fix that.

And as long as it isn't getting in the red, don't lose any sleep over it.

Welcome to TGO by the way.

Oh, well then you should worry. The engine shouldn't be anywhere near that. Double check your fans. Flush out the radiator and block, put in new fluid (add some Royal Purple "Purple Ice" to help keep it a bit cooler while you're at it). Invest in a new thermostat (they're like $10) and if none of that works, look into an aftermarket aluminum radiator or fan set up.

Good luck. And hopefully someone else can chime in with some more helpful advice.

*Edit* Also, if the engine is that hot for too long, it can really mess up the engine oil. Check that before you drive the car again.

When you're writing an entry just look up at the toolbar of the text box and under the "undo" button is an icon of a picture with mountains in it. Just click that and copy the web address of the picture into that box.

And if you want a custom signature like I do (under all my entries) then go over to the photoshop request board https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/sign...shop-requests/ and post some pictures of your car. Then in a few days a sig with your car in it will magically appear. They can also put new wheels and colors on your car.

might want to check and see if you still have the factory plastic duckting that direct air to the radiator. most people remove it because it scrapes on the ground. If it hits 220 no big deal. most switches dont come on before that regardless of what thermostat you have.. if it hits the red and then drops again into the median range then you could step down to a lower range switch.. i'm not sure which one but there was a thread her from a few years ago that had the specific part number. If it doesnt drop then your fans arent coming on.

He says it only heats up when it's sitting in traffic though. So I'm guessing that the air dam is still there. And the fan switch is another good idea.
