Secondary fan grounding

This is more of an electrical question i suppose, but I will try it here. Car is an 89 GTA 350. It has the two fans. When I got the car, the wiring was a dog's breakfast. Niether fan worked as all the wiring was cut. I rewired them a couple years ago and the first(drivers) fan works fine with regular driving. I did get the secondary to work but only by grounding a black wire (relay ground)that was just hanging in the engine bay. Didnt matter at the time because the air didn't work. I didn't use it at all.
I've just fixed the A/C and would like to wire it so it comes on with the air on. I currently have it grounded to start and stop with ignition on. If someone has a diagram or knows wherer to attach this wire, I would appreciate the help. Thanks, Mark.
