eliminating oil cooler, how to reroute the lines
I'm gong to be ditching the factory oil cooler and I want to clean up some of the coolant hoses running to and from it. Is there a way to simplify the lines going to the intake, heater core and radiator? Do I need that plastic vaccum operated valve that the 3/4" hoses connect to? Can I just get rid of that and run one side of the heater core to the radiator and the other side to the top of the intake?

Just remove the hoses and steel water tubing.
Your going to want to retain the heater control valve
your referring to or your heater is going to be hot all
the time. Even without turning on the heater fan going
to be warm in the car
I've also got a factory oil cooler for sale. I call them
oil warmers.

I dont plan on selling my oil cooler. I may go back to it at a later date or on another project. As for the heater control valve, its going. If it gets warm inside the car during the summer monthes then I wil just bypass the heater core entirely for the few hot monthes we get here. Its not that hard to just add a feet of hose to the heter core when it gets a little nippliy out. I just now need to find out if the heater core has a devoted inoet and outlet.

as a rule of thumb- the larger diameter heater core pipe is the inlet and the smaller diameter one is the outlet..........

WHy would the supply be smaller than the outlet? As I understand it, the inlet is always larger to supply the pressure that is lost through the heater core.I have plenty of repair manual s on cars.........but now that I look closer at them, I can't see where there are any diagrams that show the inlet and outlet of the heater cores with their dimensions.....what is it on a third gen?
