radiator leak

well i got a new radiator from vato zone about 6months ago and it sprang a leak. thier is this small metal plug above the bottem cooler line and it looks like the leak is comming from around it. not the actuall plug itself but its in a square type bung and its leaking from the edge around the bung. and of corse auto zone lost my warrenty info and wont replace it because i dont have the recipt. what i was wondering is since its got brass side tanks and thats where the leak is. could i seal it with solder? i already tried that metal epoxy stuff and it held good for about a month but started leaking again. i need a permanent fix and im not paying a radiator shop 60 bux to fix it when a brand new one is only $100.
thanx for the help.
