Need a new radiator fan motor, are there any upgrades?

Need a new radiator fan motor, are there any upgrades?

Its a 90 with dual fans, started getting hot with the ac on in traffic. Found out the drivers side motor is toast.

Did some reading, and someone was saying, the LS1 fan motors would interchange, and draw more amps spinning faster. Is this true?

Is there a faster/better motor?

Thanks,
Mike

was looking on autozone.com, the part numbers are different for the LS1 and L98 fan motors. Both are SIEMENS PM517 for the L98 and PM537 for the LS1. The L98 motor is 30.00 while the LS1 motor is 45.00, LS1 weighs a little more as well 3.5 to 3.1 pounds. Lt1 has the same part number listed for the motor as the L98 PM517.

When i go i will have them pull both, and see if the fan will bolt up. Its 15.00 more but if it pulls more cfms then its worth it.

Seems there not it stock though..

If the stock motor keeps things cool, why give up more power to the fans?

If i have to replace something i like to upgrade when i can. Kinda part of the hobby/sickness i guess.

My stock 245 horse 350 got me down the street where i needed to go. But the 406 makes it so much more fun.
