i need a new water pump

so i replaced my original water pump last year, at 110,000 miles, because it started to leak. i rplaced it with a new one from auto zone, and it sucks, i have a fan switch on my car and a 160 thermostat, with the old pump the car would stay exactly at 160 degrees not a degree more or less, witht the new one it overheats i always have the fan switched on and if i let the engine idle for 10 minutes and then check the temp it will be at 190, with the fan running the whole time, then if i bring up the rpms, 2,000, for a minute the temp will drop, even while i'm cruisng around town at 40 m.p.h. in cool weather with the fan switched on the car will still range between 160-190, so my pump definately isn't flowing enough. if i pull the cap and watch the radiator flow i can see that its only flowing 1/2 of what the stock one did

so where can i get a better pump, i dont need anything crazy my car is stock with bolt ons, i just need a pump thats as good as factory, for less than $150 bucks, so what is everone using on here?

I use edelbrock's water pump. I got a 180 thermostat, my fans open at 220. With my stock pump my car's average temp was 220 now with the edelbrock pump it barely goes over 180. I bought it from summit.

i've gotten 2 bad parts from autozone, my egr, wells, it so stiff the valve wont open, and my water pump, right after i installed the new on i noticed a difference, but i thought that maybe there was air in the pump or something but after a year and 10,000 miles i'm guess ing it just $hit, k-0 how much did that edelbrock pump run you?

Edelbrock aluminum hi-flow water pump. 9 years later and no problems.
